Barolo

Fratelli Alessandria

Monvigliero and Cannubi

Historically Monvigliero has long been thought by growers in Barolo to rival Cannubi, especially in dry years. A small number of growers produce wine here and own less than 2 ha on average. Fratelli Alessandria has 1.4 ha and their first Monvigliero vintage was 1978, the first to do so. The Alessandria family has been growing grapes in Verduno on Monvigleiro since the 19th century.
